According to informant Mishaal Rahman, Google has not finished working on Android 14 so it has postponed the release of the stable version to a Google event on October 4.
The official announcement of Android 14 happens sometime next month. This new version of the operating system was initially expected to be released in August, as was Android 13. However, Google surprised everyone by delaying the release. Meanwhile, new beta versions have been released, and the latest, Beta 5.2, was released last week.
According to informant Mishaal Rahman, Google has not finished working on Android 14 so it has postponed the release of the stable version to a Google event on October 4. Reporting from Gizmochina (7/6), Google’s newest products, including the Pixel 8 series, are expected to be introduced at the event. If this claim is true, then Android 14 will be released to users at the launch of the Pixel 8 series this time.
Hear now that the source code release of Android 14 has been delayed to next month.
This decision seems to have been made very late, as even OEMs were anticipating that the release would be today.
However, it is worth noting that even world-renowned smartphone manufacturers were expecting the new version in September, or even yesterday. OnePlus, one of these companies, recently announced that the OxygenOS 14 interface, based on the new version, will be generally available at the end of this month.
The delay in the release of Android 14 has somewhat disrupted the plans of smartphone manufacturers. This is due to Google’s decision to deviate from the previous stable Android beta process and general release date.
